@Carlile...Sounds good to me. They are all about the money and love the consumers who only pay the minimum balance or as you stated nothing at all.![]()

I have spoken to 6 CapOne reps in the last two days trying to confirm info about my card and I finally got the right answer. At least I think it's the right answer. The consensus about it is better here than from CapOne themselves.
6 Reps in two days?

How does she rate a higher credit line AND a rewards card with a credit score 80 points less and baddies after a bk?
Have you considered the possibility; that Cap 1 might potentially use a 'Magic 8 Ball', to make decisions about granting approvals & CLs?

Yeah Cap One doesn't make much sense. I had a collection with them that was paid through an agency they hired to service the acct and they wouldn't deal with me directly at all. The collection was PIF .....months later, I applied for their secured card-after hearing stories of people who burned them and didn't PIF, or had much lower scores than mine and worse TLs, and were approved with no problem...and less than the $200 deposit. Cap One is extremely inconsistent.
I believe it's because they service the subprime borrower mostly, and know that people need them to build /rebuild -therefore they can do almost whatever they want.

I love you guys. Guaranteed there is a daily reminder to the horrors of Crap One....yet guaranteed there will be posters putting their finger on that apply button then crying the woes. Crap One is just that...crappy. They serve their purpose as a rebuilder and then you move on...there is no reason to their CLs or need for 3 CS to do this...their service will always be crappy because they realize they're offering a service to the desperate...
It's an old but fascinating article that talks about how Capital One is a genius at experimentation. Capital One endlessly tests permutations of credit offers and analyzes the results. I think that this explains the oddball experience of the original poster and his spouse -- they're just part of an experiment.
I got bad offer after bad offer from Capital One; when I finally got an offer from them that was worth applying for, my credit hadn't appreciably improved as far as I can tell. I believe they just wanted to test a different offer and see how in the long term their gamble on me paid off.
*edit* are you saying not to get a capital one card, or you dont get it?
I have 3 capital one cards myself and looking at closing 2 down and reapplying we will see....
