Does anyone ever use their points they accumulate on the rewards cards to purchase gifts or gift cards for Christmas presents?? I'm thinking that having a rewards card is kinda like having a "Christmas account" at a bank, where you put a little money away every month till Christmas and then withdraw it for shopping. I'm going to start doing that this year! I won't really have to put out much more out of pocket during that time, and then cash in my rewards to get my family gift cards to their favorite places to shop! That's a win win it seems like!
Anyone know how long it takes for Barclays lets say, to send you the gift cards? Should I start cashing in like end of October/ first November in order to get them in time for Christmas? I know we just had Christmas, but I'm a planner and like to plan ahead, lol!! Does it take 6-8 weeks to get the gift cards? Anyone have experience with that? Thanks for the thoughts!![]()

It will say 6-8 weeks but you get it in a week. But to be safe, do it early. And I use some of my points for giftcards as x'mas presents...

Yes.... Can you briefly tell me your experience doing that? I've never done it before, and new to rewards cards. Was it an easy transaction overall? And do order multiple gift cards? Say 3-$20 Starbucks cards, and 2-$100 Macy's cards all in was setting? Thanks!
Sure.. Based on what rewards card you have, 1 point = $1. I have most of my rewards via Chase. You can redeem for a lot of gift cards for the companies listed on their portal. You can redeem from $5 - $100. For example, 500 points = $5, 2500 points = $25, 5000 points = $50 and so on. You can also redeem to jet out out to a holiday spot which is worth more... Hope this helps.
To get rewards quickly, sign up for cards with big bonus points. Save you a lot of money...

I just looked in my barclays rewards account , under "manage rewards", and they only offer like 8 gift cards??? I thought that I would be able to orders gift cards from 100's of different places and have my pick! That's disappointing??!
