Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

@Taurus22 just maybe Citi knows and did not open p/c's to Custom Cash for business reasons. Also, as we know in today's world it seems with lenders I cross paths with, the front line is not given the information or schooled in how to find it. Smiley Sad

Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

@Anonymous  Well, I'm sure they have some internal reason for not allowing the direct PC's....but my latest dilemma seems to be that the CSR's are telling me that my account specifically can't be converted to Custom Cash.....even through the backdoor double-conversion. They made it sound like if I tried and did a PC to Diamond Preferred for example, I would then be stuck with the DP with no option to PC to Custom Cash.

This is why I'm having to speak with a financial analyst. I need to find out what the problem is, if what I've been told is indeed true or if it's just more CSR ineptness, and what options I really do have. I have no issue whatsoever doing the double-conversion, but I don't want to get stuck halfway with a card that has less use than my DC already does. Worse case scenario, the DC would still be a viable backup for my AOD 3% card if it were to become nerfed.....but the DP would be entirely useless.

With my DC already SD'ed, it seems Citi would want to see more use from the card, the more swipes it gets the more they profit....but not allowing me to convert to something I would use every day (ie Custom Cash), seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot more than anything.

And ultimately, if I end up having to burn a HP and take their $200 for a cold app, that's fine too. At least I would still have the DC in the sock drawer rather than a DP.

Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

@Taurus22     was converted by Citi from now I can't recall ___ to the Citi DP and I p/c'd it in nine months to the Citi DC which I do use. Did p/c the Citi Thank You card to the Citi Dividend Card back in the day with no problems and another card to the Citi American Express Card with no problems.

Also p/c'd the Citi Dividend (used to be a mini travel cards with lots of benefits in the very early days) which I did not need with no hassles. Did not try what you are after however.

Not read this so it is only my thinking but does Citi look at our profile and a soft pull before the system generates available p/cs? Note, this is only conjecture on my part and is not based on any dps. Citi will not give me any CLIs but seems to always go out of their way to help me with whatever p/c I have had (so many over time I cannot remember them all - at least eight using my fingers to count). Will go back to 1979 when I got a Citi Visa (no rewards) and had it upgraded to a Citi Gold Visa (travel benefits but no rewards) with a letter to the Corporate President in Sioux Falls SD.

Who knows? Smiley Frustrated

Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

Can do my 2nd PC on 28th of next month in theory..  Glad I started the process awhile ago.  I learned along time ago to take CSR knowledge like a grain of salt esp when you hear 10 different stories of allowing at x date or won't ever allow, etc,, etc.. I will take my chance and see where the ball lands as even if stuck with the free AA card can be worse as have many 2%+ CC's so the DC certainly was nothing special.  I think my PC will go on my 2nd one to Custom Cash though. See soon enough.

Yup, the bolded part pretty much.  It matters not if escalated to EO.

I think you will be fine @CreditCuriosity.  I have done a variety of PCs over the years (selectively), and all of them have been successful.  It's unfortunate that you had to jump through a couple hoops to accomplish this feat, but I have confidence it will get done for you.  I, on the other hand wanted to be a GP and test the waters to see if I could get approved -- although I had read plenty of DPs everywhere I figured why not Smiley Tongue  Now, due to your current mortgage situation, I can see why the HP and new account is of no appeal.  Just think once that whole process is done!

I'll be waiting for you for more apps Smiley Very Happy  Please find me more obsucure ones while you're at it.

I thought I would never see the day you'd have a Gold spade!   Heck, you might make it to Palladium...maybe.  Worth celebrating though, cuz it'll be short-lived once you're mortgage process is done 😂  We'll never make Ruby let alone Diamond -- although I've made it to silver several times 😬

But, I think you'll definitely enjoy your Custom Cash once it's in your hands.

Re: DoubleCash to Custom Cash

I received a new response today...

"Thanks for the patience, Upon checking the account I do see that currently the Custom cash card is not available for conversion and it will be available within the upcoming statement and please do contact us after an statement time so that we can assist you in the conversion and I will also make a note in the account for you regarding it "

Statement closes Sept 16th so I guess I will try the 17th.

250k+ CL and climbing.

DoubleCash to Custom Cash

I am wondering if anyone has sucessfully upgraded their Double Cash to the Custom Cash. I haven't heard of anyone being able to yet. I spoke with a rep who said they could start August 1st.

Not sure if you've perused the datapoints and discussions upthread, but thus far no PCs from Double Cash to Custom Cash.
