I don't mean to worry you but this is an issue because the system automatically links your paypal cashback credit card to your paypal personal account the second you get approved. The fact that you have a paypal buiness debit card means that you either have a business account (so not eligible for the cashback credit card) or you had the business card back in the day when you were able to apply for it with a personal account and you still have that personal account and they didn't shutdown your paypal debit card for not having a business account.

I think it's the reader's responsibility to follow the instructions and data points so they don't end up in situations that may not end up in their favor.

OK I checked and I definately have a business debit on a personal account.  So now what?

Yes, (at least that is what I did and it works!)

It means that you are eligible for the credit card since you have a personal account and you should have applied for it through your online account that way it gets added to your account then you upgrade to business account to make sure they won't shut down your old business card.

Since you mentioned that you didn't sign in before applying for the card and you are still getting prompted to apply for the credit card when you sign in means that somehow you got approved but the credit card is not linked to your paypal account at all. Its either a glitch that you were able to apply without signing in or you have a second paypal account that you were logged into when you applied (do you ?). If you don't have a second paypal account I would contact synchrony bank first and see if they can help you locate your account and also contact paypal to see if they have it on record that you have their credit card. Don't upgrade your account until the credit card shows up on your online account. Good luck

They want a business name and everything. I think I’ll pass, I don’t want to get my PayPal account flagged for anything, I’ve had it forever...

You can use your name as your business name.

Right and your expected business revenue is "up to" whatever the first figure is ($4999?) which includes 0.

I think the risk is very small, but I understand if you really value the paypal account.

I don't see much value for a paypal personal account. At best you are receiving money from friends and family and you can give them your new account if you "lose" the first one. It gets tricky if you are running a business and receiving payment through PayPal because your account is basically your paycheck. Also these days we have Zelle, Plastiq and Venmo so PayPal for personal use is not even that competitive anymore

My PayPal personal account is how I pay my rent.

I guess worst case scenario PayPal will force me back to personal and take away the business debit, I can’t see them closing my account so I’ll do the upgrade and get the card. Besides, I was thinking about it and I don’t want to risk sending my personal care to the store with my PayPal credit card with how unreliable Sync can be so I’m going to switch my BBVA to groceries which means I need a utilities card anyway. This would fit the bill nicely.

Lol they made that ridiculously easy! I set it up and it practically shoved the debit card at me. Thanks for the gentle push, that was painless!
