Easier to get a cc is you have another type of account with the same company?

dh has a car loan for 20K with US BANK- its down to 12K with no lates or anything- do you think he could get a cc from US Bank since he's had this loan? Is there a backdoor number and any experience anyone's had the usb cc would be great--

Maybe. It seems at some banks the different departments talk to each other and at other banks they don't communicate very much. You could always have him talk to someone about his current loan, ask a question or two then say hey, do you guys also issue credit cards? Then maybe they will internally transfer him and say "this is a current customer in good standing, can you take a credit application for them."

In the case of USBANK I would say having a good car loan is a sure thing for a credit card.
and just apply online and it's instant, if it's not instant, they usually email you within a day or so with answer if you provide your email

I had a checking, savings for 6 years a secured CC and a savings cd and still got turned down for they're CC.
