Easy question regarding re-apply after denial

Hi all you credit gurus! Long time guest reader, first time finally registering and posting! :-)

I have what I believe to be a question that should be pretty simple to answer.

I recently (last week) applied for a store card to finance a product but was denied (online app, HP). This online app gives the option for joint/co-signer and in fact recommends it, as its geared toward students.

My question is this - do I need to wait a certain amount of time before applying again but this time with a co-signer? My first app was as an individual, but I now have a cosigner with very strong credit. Can I go ahead and apply again now (as joint)?

TIA!

Re: Easy question regarding re-apply after denial

I would wait 30 days just to be safe and not get an instant denial because I apped too soon

Re: Easy question regarding re-apply after denial

You should call them and explain you were denied and now have a cosigner in my opinion.

Re: Easy question regarding re-apply after denial

if you call them now, they might use the same HP. IMHO call now.

what store?

if it's GE/synch, you might be able to call credit solutioins and get the approval on your credit alone. if they deny you a then... be ready to supply your co-signer's info.

Re: Easy question regarding re-apply after denial

It's RBS Cit (for Apple - not Barclays). My only problem is I'm really needing to get it done today for school tomorrow. Likely can't call today since it's a holiday right?

Re: Easy question regarding re-apply after denial

Or would a creditor's phone support typically be open on a holiday like this maybe?
