I've been tracking my credit obsessively with a monitoring service for a few months now and my accounts are now all reporting (though not showing as paid yet, so my score is dropping down...I know it'll be back up, but not fun to watch!). Something I thought was curious was that Elan's was reporting as a Flexible Spending Credit Card on EX. Surely that's a mistake, I thought. A couple days later, it shows up on EQ/TU as the same. Huh. Did some research on here and see that it happens with some lenders, even if they don't have a Visa Signature, or vice versa.
Well, I just dug through the mountains of fine print in the Card Agreement, and there it is, plain as day. "There is no predetermined Credit Limit for your Account." Not too shabby.
Doesn't really concern me much, since I'm using Discover for my daily purchases while I have the cashback promotion, but hey, its there for emergencies if need be, since I don't have a debit card anymore. Just throwing this out there for everyone.
Also, a note on the rewards system: I've read on a few threads that nobody offers more than 2% on gas on a no-AF card. Not so: This card is basically a reversal of the BCE; 3% on gas up to $6k, 2% unlimited on groceries, 1% everywhere else. It does have a leg up on the BCE in that you can redeem rewards as a check/ACH deposit and throw it in an interest bearing account instead of just statement credits.
Again, useless for me as I don't drive, but might be a nice complementary card for some, especially CU/regional bank customers.
