Experian Report and Score on American Express Website

I just logged onto to check my Amex account.  I noticed where they are offering a free Experian score and report.  Am I to assume this is just a FAKO score?  Would that be a hard or soft pull?  I don't think I'll bother, but I was wondering if someone had tried it.

the amex creditsecure product is one of the few remaining daily pulls. several of us use it for the account info., etc.  the scores are useless FAKOS.

I would beg to differ on saying the scores are useless. I find that they increase and decrease as FICO scores do. I am able to see my Experian score through my credit union, and my FICO dropped 9 points in the last 30 days.  My Experian FAKO dropped 7 points.

My FAKO scores are always higher tho, about 40 points

Mine bear little relationship to my real scores, and hardly ever change at all

My AMEX Blue Cash has a link for a complimentary 30 day report and score. This doesn't sound like the same thing as the daily pulls. What card do you have that on? If I get my complimentary report will they then try to charge me for something after 30 days?

This was on my gold charge card. I've never seen it mentioned on the site before this week.

I have CreditSecure through my Blue, although I first got it through my Gold card, since canceled.

Go to your Summary of Accounts page (on my computer, it's the first screen after I log in.) Look on their toolbar and click the drop-down menu for Additional Products and Services. Choose Credit Secure (fourth one down on my screen.)

There's a one-month trial where you can only pull once, and then once you cough up the money, it's daily pulls for all three bureaus. And you don't have to wait 24 hours, as we did with sorely-missed TrueCredit: just so it's the next calendar date. I don't know if this is what you're looking at, though. I had an EX-only daily pull through USAA which became redundant once I reluctantly signed up for CS.

I don't like CS as much, because I think the Experian report format is kindergarten-ish, and it doesn't update nearly as promptly as TC did, but these days, it's all I've got.

And for people po'd at AmEx who still want to keep their card open, it's a great automatic monthly use that will keep the card ticking over. Smiley Very Happy

Thanks Hauling! Is it daily pulls of your report, or daily pulls of your report and FAKO score??

Daily pulls of all three reports (which unfortunately, aren't necessarily updated) and your FAKO PLUS scores for all three bureaus, woo hoo.

Re: Experian Report and Score on American Express Website

I imagine if the Plus score increased 100 points, there's a reasonable chance the corresponding Fico score would increase, but the amount of the increase could be anything from 1 point to 200 points. Any correlation between the two scoring models is mostly coincidence. People have reported differences of more than 100 points.

From December to February, my EX Plus score increased 22 points while my EX Fico did not change. Meanwhile, my EQ Plus score stayed unchanged while my EQ Fico increased 18 points. Two of my Plus scores were higher than my Fico scores, the other was lower.

Each scoring model places different weight on different scoring elements. If you had both positive and negative changes in your credit report (such as utilization percentage goes down but number of new inquiries go up), it's entirely possible your Plus score and Fico score might change in opposite directions ...
