My Experian score is much higher than the other two companies. 659 to be exact compared to 597 and 594. At this moment, I am a grad student and I do not have any credit cards. I'm trying to rebuild / start a credit history and thought the easiest way to get accepted would be to ensure that the bank goes to Experian for my report and not the other two. I'm was going to try and go thru my local bank / credit union to get a card but what other national banks would be a good place to start? Also, I read that if I apply for multiple cards at the same time my report will only get hit once not for each time I applied and was turned down or accepted. Is this a myth or is it accurate? I want to try and get a card with a competitive rate and no annual fee before going down the list to easier cards to get but with a annual fee or higher rate. Don't want to start to high on the list if I get hit each time I get turned down. Thank you
