Extra Base Credit Card from BofA

I'd like to get one, but while my credit score is slowly recovering from the miscues of my early adult life, it's not there yet and I'm afraid I would get rejected, thus undoing some of the progress that I've made.

Anyone have any experiences with this card or BofA in general?

Welcome to the forum.  I don't know about that card but since you asked about BofA experience I have had tons of it and none was good.

I would look towards a local CU if you qualify for membership or possibly a local bank.  Citibank is worth a look and I would avoid Capitol 1 as well.

IMHO BofA is a subprme company and I will dance on their grave when they go belly up.

Hey Marty, if they go belly up, I think you will have many more problems than dancing on there grave.  The economy, already fragile, would tank.

That's alot of dancing Smiley Happy

I actually have had great experinces with BofA, so far. I have the 123 Rewards Card with them. The first time I applied for the card I was denied, but they sent me an application asking for a co-signer. At that time, I had maxed out all my credit cards and had about 5 inquries within 2 months Smiley Sad. So OP, I would suggest you go for it, or at least take a copy of your most recent CR to a local bank and see what happens. Good Luck...

The opinions of BOFA run the full gamut here on these forums; however, most are disinclined to do further business with them.

Personally I've never had any issues with their credit card products that weren't my own fault; also, I'd note that a non-trivial number of people on this forum often do things which don't drop them in traditional risk buckets on likely most internal lender scoring systems.  Your mileage as an individual consumder will invariably, vary.

We really never know the full story when we hear both positive and negative reviews of BofA or anything in general.

For my issue, I have said it was always my fault but it was the way that BofA handled the situation which caused me to wind up with multiple 120 day lates instead of a single 30 day late.   Sometimes things are not always black and white.

In considering to get a CC from someone sometimes involves more than just interest rates and CLs.  Customer service, the way you are treated if a mistake is made, regardless of who's fault it is, company policy, etc are things to consider.  There are CCC companies I would never deal with based on feedback from people in this forum, great CLs and rates or not.
