I am thinking about getting this exxon mobil citibank card. It has an offer for 30 cents off each gallon for the first 60 days and 15 cents afterwards. I use mobil all the time. My questions are 1- )Do they give very good CLI's? 2- )at what month(s) do they give CLI? 3- )Should I ask for a CLI at activation? 4-) Is this a good card?
If this card has grown with you, can you please tell me how?
Any information will be appreciated
thanks
I use the Mobil card once a week to gas up the old war wagon. When I applied (in NY) they pulled TU and they started me off with a 3k line. My line now is 7k - after having this card 2 years. During this past summer, when gas was $4.69 I ran up about $250 a month in fees and ALWAYS did a PIF. Now gas is about $1.95 and I don't spend nearly as much, but I still PIF. Additionally, this card came with a speed pass swipe - makes filling up a little easier.
I never asked for cli, but after 6 months they did a soft pull before increasing my line from 3k to 3.5 then increased in $500 increments every 6 months or so. Always a soft pull on TU.
Since I use this card only for purchasing gas - I am happy with my present line of 7k. The card also has a cash advance feature.

Thanks everyone
I too am in NY so this will help me with its reward feature. I will probably only use it for gas purchases and then PIF. Thanks
one more question, I am assuming this card reports the credit limit?
Thanks
So you have a 7'000 limit on a gas card o my lol my thing is thats great an all but why would one need a limt like that for just a gas card unless it's a visa or mc?

That is what cobra has, an ExxonMobil MC, that is why he has a 7k limit.

I can't speak for $7k, but I manage my in-laws Exxon account. Between 5 different users, during the peak of prices in the summer, they were spending $2500 each month and would PIF. Some of these purchases were biz-related on this personal card and would float a balance of up to $5000 factoring in time between statement mailings, check delays, etc.
I HAVE A 1 YEAR CREDIT HISTORY LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD 15 INQUIRES BUT I GOT APPROVED JUST LAST WEEK FOR EXXON MOBIL CC FROM CITI $750.
I GUESS THEY WILL GIVE U A HIGH CL
Yes, the Exxon/Mobil card reports the credit limit every month.
When managing this account - or any credit account - the key isn't the line of credit, it's making sure you pay the bill (preferably in full) each month.
