So I fired my Macys ($100) and Best Buy ($300) cards tonight. I haven't used either in years and neither would give a CLI. I know I don't have the scores to justify me "demanding" anything, but they're better than they were when I applied 5 years...throw me a bone. Don't need them for utilization and found out through this forum that my AAoA doesn't take a hit so they got FIRED......and it felt great!
Building an 700+ pt worthy credit profile is a process that I've learned takes lots of time and patience. No matter how many times a day I look at my FICO dashboard I can't get those stupid scores to go up any faster
Giving these two the axe was something I could control and it provided instant gratification. ![]()
Congrats! Sometimes you have to trim the fat...

LOL.. That title
Good for you..
Agree! I think I'll just baby my NFCU and Barclay's until I can move up to the big leagues with all of you. I have a few more on my list but I'm guessing I should stagger it.

Patience is something I really struggle with but I'm getting better. Unlike when I started rebuilding, I don't really need anything right now. I have enough available credit for daily needs and emergencies, have a house, and a car. Le' Sigh..... Time to just wait.

Glad you felt some relief letting go of the non-movers.
You certainly seem to have enough available credit, so patience is key a this point. In the meantime, you can investigate which card(s) will bes suit your future needs and plot your strategy. ![]()
YES! lol currently reading a thread on everyone top card for 2014. ![]()
Unfortunately sometimes low limit stalled out cards are more of an anchor to your credit progressing than a benefit. Looks like you done a little better then just instant gratification. It takes time but sometimes too much time with no progress at all just begs to get "FIRED!"
