I received a pre-qual offer in the mail today regarding the platinum visa card from FNBO. It's like 0% apr for a year and i think 19.99 apr which isnt great. I remember reading some stuff awhile back about how they were a decent bank to get a card with. I remember considering it then but honestly didn't know much about them.
Does anyone have any info on how good they are (if u pay on time and do all the things u are supposed to do etc etc) ? Do they give increases well or PC to much better cards at a decent rate?
I was gonna do some research tonight but figured I'd ask before dinner
Also, I just recently got a Barclay's rewards mastercard a little over a month ago and heard they can get nervous with new approvals. How long do u normally have to wait? I currently only have like 5-6 cards and the Barclay's was my first card in like 5-6 months.
Any info is appreciated!
Yea the 0% is nice for sure. I just figured they had better cards that I could perhaps get down the road so they may be a good bank to get in with.
Just wasn't sure how barclays was with new accounts as well.

I think Barclays is reasonable, they're not going to freak out over 1 account if you are stable otherwise.
A good thing about FNBO is that usually the pre-approvals are pretty solid. Also, there's a free Experian FICO score, which is always nice.
What are you looking for in a new card?
Well the reason I got the Barclays card is because I wanted to get in and establish history with them. The rewards isn't too shabby and figured I could eventually build up enough with them to get the Sallie Mae which I really want.
I don't know much about FNBO so that's why I was curious. I have def heard some good things about them as far as SP CLI's but just wanted to make sure they are a solid bank. Would be nice to get established with them as well especially if it led to bigger limits and some of their better cards.

Yes, FNBO is a very solid bank, and customer service super courteous. They manually review applications, but their preapprovals are fairly solid.
I recently opened an account with FNBOdirect because the rate is quite good, and I hope that if they start reviewing my credit reports again that they will let me back in with one of their cards.
FNBO typically does SP CLIs? I definitely took a HP when I asked for one on my FNBO card.
Apparently I'm the only one who got a FNBO pre-approved offer for their Sheetz gas card. I was turned down and recon stood firm as I had too many new accounts and inquiries for their taste. So, even though it was pre-approved, they shot it down when they ran my CR.
Today I got TWO pre-approvals (haven't looked closely to see if that's the wording) for the FNBO Amex. One has 19.99% and one has 21.99%. I think they're otherwise the same.I think this makes about 5 total I've gotten.
Tempting to use one as an IN to FNBO, but pretty unremarkable card otherwise.
ETA: No, they're both an APR range. The starting number (11.99) is on the first line, the ending number is on the second and that's all I read skimming.
Also, what does it mean that the offers I get don't look or sound anything like the cards on their site? The Amex on their site is silver, the one in my ad is black, and they have different terms/features.
