I recently got the FNBO Evergreen (this week) and the AARP Barclays Card (2 months ago), I'm obviously not planning to ask for any credit limit increases right now but these two are two of my lowest limits and I plan to use these cards a lot, so I'm curious about both long term.. My questions are below.
FNBO - Are requests soft pulls or hard pulls? Are they strict/stingy on their increases or after 6 months could I expect a fair chance at an increase?
Barclays - Are requests soft pulls or hard pulls? I've heard they monitor limits from other cards and try to stay below your other cards limits, is this true? Do they do any auto increases or would any increases need to be at my request?
I received my FNBO Evergreen in Nov 2021, at the 8 month mark.. July 2022 I received a SP CLI🙂

That's great news! Did you request it or they did it on their own?
If you apply for a CLI with BarclayUS you will get a hard pull.
There used to be a kind of backdoor trick with them where you could call and ask if you had an offer on your account for an APR reduction and then ask if there was an offer for a soft pull CLI on your account. I haven't seen anyone comment on even trying to do that in quite a while and given current trends that might be a bit thin, but could be worth a try. If you give that a try it would be appreciated if you followed up here with the outcome :-)

Okay, will do. I planned to call them after 6 months to see if I could get a better APR, if I do I will ask that as well and definitely post the results.

FNBO. I only have a business card. After 10 months I applied for, and received, a credit limit increase. I was instantly approved, and there was no hard pull.
Barclays is always a hard pull for CLI requests. And very stingy. They pull TU.

Great information all around, thank you!
One question, does Barclays do any auto increases or any increased have to be requested?
They do but getting one is very unusual.
My info is a few years old, so not sure if a lot has changed.
FNBO gave me a CLI after 6 months by calling in.
At that time it was a SP.
My CL went from 15k to 20k, (5k increase)
Barclay's
Had two auto increases of about 1500-2000 over 3 years
Never requested a CLI, because of the known HP.
