What is your recommended approach to a fast CLI approval for a US Bank Altitude Connect
SL is $500, I'm considering credit cycling but I don't want to report heavy usage.
WHATS YOUR TAKE?
Scenario #1
Charge $150 before statement closes on the 15th, US bank reports balance to CB on the 30th. (reports 30% usage) then payoff balance and repeat.
Scenario #2
Charge $150 before statement closes on the 15th, Pay off statement balance, then US bank reports 0% usage to CB on the 30th. -REPEAT
Scenario #3
Charge $500(100%) payoff $500 before statement closes on the 15th, US bank reports 0% usage to CB on the 30th. -REPEAT
Scenario #4
Charge $500(100%) before statement closes on the 15th, Pay $350 and leave $150 balance for bank to reports 30% usage to CB on the 30th. Then payoff balance and repeat.
Id keep reported util under 29%.
I don't know if usb responds to usage. I have connect and shoppers. I put high usage in each initially to meet the 4 month spend for the sub, $500 for connect and $300 for shoppers. Then, less. At 6 months I requested a cli from the app for each. SP. Denied, due to low turd score. Rinse and repeat several times to beyond a year. Finally I tried again, this time, they wanted a hp, I thawed and agreed, got +$3,000 on each, one hp.
It looks like they quit this turd score experiment. The previous cl didn't seem to matter, I got $2,000 to $5000 and $7000 to $10000. Btw, my tu fico8 was about 800, while my turd score was high 500's, big difference! My highest cl with any card was $27,000.
So, spend didn't seem to matter. My experience indicates, wait 6 months, you'll probably get +$3000.
Maybe with a lot of spend they'd go higher. Let us all know how it works for you, please.
