Just got an email that the Fidelity Rewards VS (issued by Elan for those unaware) has 2 new benefits:
TSA PreCheck & Global Entry Credit: Receive up to 10,000 Reward Points every four years when you apply for either Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.
Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver: receive up to $75,000 of Auto Rental Coverage ... when you pay for the entire cost of the rental vehicle. ... Decline the rental agency’s Collision Damage Waiver

These are on top of the preexisting No FTF.
TSA pre check is nice for a non annual fee card. The car rental is secondary to your personal auto insurance fyi.
Well, it covers the cost of your deductible as being reimbursed if you already have insurance. I've never seen that before for secondary insurance coverage.
Pretty decent additions. Personally I'd rather see an increase in cash back rate for higher Fidelity balances, and have a feeling maybe these upgrades are being made in lieu of any type of cash back rate change. I guess they wanted to go more in the travel-card direction.
Just in time for me to get pre-check, my appointment is next week. Very convenient

More reasons to get this card. I am waiting a few months before applying since I have cooked the credit apps recently. Possibly March of next year. My plan after getting Fidelity is to move as much of my credit line from Savor over to Quicksilver (it's my oldest account), close my Savor (my newest account), and then PC the Quicksilver to Savor.
Is Elan as picky about the Fidelity card as they are about the Max Cash card?
