Finally 700 club....Quick question(Update)

8/7/09 - TU 700 - 6 lates. all 6 years plus in age with accounts that are in good standing ever since. 1 public record from 2004 -  PIF

8/7/09 - EQ 706 - 4 lates. all 5 years plus in age with accounts that are in good standing ever since. 1 public record from 2004 -  PIF

I have 1 CC that I paid my UTIL from 52% to 3% last month (saw a 30 pt jump with TU Smiley Happy but only a 12 pt Smiley Sad with EQ not sure what that's about because there was no other changes) anyway what cards should I apply for? I would like at least a $2000 CL on 2 CC.

Luv this site Smiley Wink

Re: Finally 700 club....Quick question

If you don't have the cards already, you should apply for Citi Platinum and Discover More to add to your portfolio.  If approve, Discover may give you a $2500 Cl or more.  Your scores are still considered low due to changes in the credit industry.  Good luck! Let us know the outcome of your application(s).

Way to Go!! Don't come back years from now asking about a GW or PFD.  Use that credit wisely. They were very generous to you.  Smiley Very Happy

I'd also suggest the Discover More card. I love mine!    You can really rack up some nice rewards with them.

Just keep that utilization down!

You might see a hit after apping, but it will be worth it in the long run if you take good care of your cards.  I recently got NFCU and Kroger 123 and lost about 17 points on EQ, but I know I'll get those back as the accounts age, etc.

Congrats again!!!Smiley Happy

Re: Finally 700 club....Quick question(Update)

Thanks all... The new cards are in no way meant for a spending spree my UTIL will reain below 9%. They are just to be used as steping stone towards 800 Smiley Happy .I went though a lot of work and aggravation to get my scores to 700. All My lates but 1 drop off early next year and then it should be smooth sailing from there. My scores started out in the low 600s early this year. This board definitly help and still is helping. Although the FICO score watch has become an addiction Smiley Happy (but a good one.).

Citi pulled EQ dropped my FICO by 2pts.

Re: Finally 700 club....Quick question(Update)

So I app'ed for Discover More and was denied (oh that hurts). I called recon line and the reason was to many lates. They ran TU which has 2 more lates (6+ years old) then EQ. I would still like at least 1 more bank CC. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Gack! Wrong yeat I guess. Or wrong excuse. They approved me for $8.1K CL a year ago with 13 well aged (3+ years old), but reporting lates. Did you say you have a PR reporting? That could make a difference. A combination of reporting lates PLUS a PR is nasty.
