3/13: apply for Capital One Secured Card and Approved
3/14: submit $49 deposit
3/15: deposit leaves bank account
3/28: get email that says the image I chose was approved, should get card within 7-10 business days
4/4: get email that the card was sent yesterday and should arrive within 7-10 business days, shows last four of the account number.
Has it taken this long for others to get their cards?
Capital One is a great card for rebuilding. They report to the big 3 c/r/a. It will move you up.
My first Cap1 was not secured, but yeah, it took a couple of weeks I believe. I think secured cards in general take more time, I assume because they already have your money

When you do a custom designed image card, not a stock design, they need time to use your photo and custom make your card after content review. I suspect this "personalized image" card delayed you at least a week.

It wasn't even my own photo...it was one of theirs!

They still have to "small batch" custom make the card which takes time. Last time I looked Capital One had 2 or 3 default stock designs and over 100 "custom image" designs. Just think if the card making operation is making 2,000 cards a day matching names and account numbers, 84 of those are custom designs that use one of 100 special designs. I know it's all computer generated, but still a custom image card is not as "mass produced" as the stock design cards and it takes a bit extra time.
I have one of their cards with a custom photo, one I took, but I waited until after they issued me the standard card to order the custom design off the web site, that way I have full usage of the card until my "vanity card" shows up.
It arrived today! I'm now on the "Road to Credit" as they say...lol.
Into the sock drawer you go...
