Well just like chase. I said i would never apply for a citi card without a pre approval. Today after months of checking so many times. and coming up empty. i finally got a citi pre approval. But I really don't know what to think of it.
It gave me the option of 5 cards in total.
The Typ
The double cash.
The Diamond Preferred.
Prestige and premier. all as a pre approval. but with high interest rate. also i have lots of accounts in the last 12 months. about 8. so but only 3 apps in the last 6 months. maybe that is why i got the pre approval. what should i think? is it golden.?. its my last lender to get in with.Yikes 22.99% after the promo period. wait. BOA too. jst not sure. any advice taken. Taxi. offer below.
Checked again. Im also getting offered the Simplicity and the AA Advantage card. Regardless of card they are 22 percent. except the Aa card. its 21 percent. but 21 months 0% apr sounds good with no BT fee. I could put all my balances onto this card. but im not sure the limit would cover every thing. as stated. any advice.

Wait for pre selection in mail. I used to get the 22.99 offers as the pre qual site shows. Now I get pre selected offers with 14.99 after 0%. Then, wait some more. Citi doesn't like a ton of cards vs income, so consolidation may be in order. They don't like a lot of new accounts, so last new account should be over one year. Otherwise, even if they approve, very low limit. Also, they want clean reports, it's just the way it is.
That sounds like a good plan. im just in shock i even got the pre approval. My report is crystal clean. that is not issue. also. i only have 3 accounts last 6 months. but 8 in the last year. income is just fine. utilization is about 9%. so not bad either. but i think that is great advice to see if i can get some mail offers now. under 15% would make me jump all over it. Thanks.
Don't believe the pre approval with Citi. I was "pre qualified" for the Citi Double Cash and applied for it on June 26 - 2 HP later, I was turned down by them. Two recons and absolutely no changing their minds. I'm done with them, apparently I don't fit their profile afterall.

Wow. Did they tell you why? Like too many inquiries or too many new accounts?
Not sure what their deal is. I just know. I have 3 new accounts last 6 months. And 8 the last year. 2 of the 3 is with citi. Cli on best buy. And Home Depot card. Both Equifax.

Now i must ask. how many do you have this year alone?
as from above. i decided to wait for mailers from citi. which even if i get mailer. im not going to apply for at least 3-4 months from today. just to make sure they don't give me some bs limit. and im convinced i will go with the simplicity card. 21months 0%apr. need at least a 8k limit to put 4k of balances onto. that way i could pay it off interest free in the next 18 months. taking my sweet time. just did the same thing with Discover. put some balances on there as they gave me another 12 months 0 percent interest on BT.
I only prequal for the DP at 0 for 9 then 22.9. Yet mail offers keep coming for simplicity 0 for 21 then 12.99.... or DC/DP 0 for 18 then 19.99. SO strange!

All my citi mail offers changed to 14.99. Have the old double cash somewhere (shredder arriving tomorrow or Monday).
For some reason i thought citi was a great lender. but according to myfico they are harder and harder to get a good limit from. and even harder to get approved. even harder than my amex to say the least. Im glad im finally getting pre approvals from them. but current i will pass. thanks all.
