Long time lurker but I thought I would share a working method for me since this forum has been so helpful to my credit journey. I have been attempting cli’s for years trying to get the so method to work for me for years and have been unsuccessful. For years I’ve been sacrificing hp just to get mediocre increases(usually between 1K and 2. Was successful one time to get a 4K increase). Determined to change that I thought to give it one more try as my scores have been hovering around the low 700’s. Didn’t want to risk the chance if any more hard pulls as I’m not in the need for more credit so I made sure to freeze my reports on the off chance that a cli would go to review. After freezing my reports I tried for a cli on my cash rewards. Have been having it for several years at 2K limit because I was scared to ask for increase. Put in for 20,000 and it went to review. Heart broken but still curious I tried for an increase on my gorewards which was at 4,200. Asked to be increased to 10,000 and it was an instant approval via sp. Excited and still curious I attempted another cli on the cash rewards that went to review. This time scared of what would happen I only asked to be increased to 6,000 and bam just like the gorewards instant sp granted. This goes to show that a message doesn’t always mean there is not a so cli available just make sure your reports are locked and ask for a smaller amount. So excited to have increase my exspoure with them by almost 10K and without the risk of a hard pull. Couldn’t have done it without the awesome experience I’ve gotten from memebers over the years. Hope this helps some still trying to crack a navy ar cli 😁
It should be noted that discussion of locking or freezing reports for the purpose of manipulating credit decisions is prohibited on this forum.
Having said that, I don't believe the locks had any effect in this case as they don't stop existing lenders from pulling reports. Some banks will insist on reports being unlocked anyway, but it appears that Navy isn't one of them.
