Several times I've read on the forums how a CL will decrease without warning. Fingerhut has sent me a notice that my CL will decrese in March unless I charge something. While it doesn't get much use and the limit is low, it is my second oldest card. Just wanted to let others know that Fingerhut does give a warning. Now, to buy something cheap.
That is great for them I wish there were others that took to giving a fair warning I think it would help especially those starting out their credit or starting to understand credit to help them keep things in line. Kudos to Fingerhut for doing so.

Ransom note.
This was a notice to lower my normal limit. I receive small increases every quarter or so and then warnings that the CLI is going away unless I buy something. Yes, I have a few other cards: Chase, AmEx, USBank, Discover, CIti, Barcley, Cap1, Com Sportsmans Guide Visa, and a lot of store cards. (&^%$ those sign up bonuses!) It was a springboard. I feel a bit of loyalty since it was my second card. Total CL for all cards is a bit over $170K. I'm still blacklisted by BoA. I never tried for any of the military CU's.

You feel loyal, but they seemed not to feel the same way if you don't make a purchase. They won't feel loyal if you miss a payment.
You already paid them for your loyalty in higher product prices and any interest you paid them.
In the past I purchased cheese through FingerHut. The cheese originator's price/delivery was a little bit higher. I haven't purchased any since last year. I just checked and the cheese is back. I'll check the price vs. the originating source and maybe make a purchase.

That would be the only reason I personally would keep them open. To purchase a product I can't get elsewhere or cheaper elsewhere.
