I feel you on the loyalty part. They've kickstarted my original journey and rebuild so i always defend them . That being said, i was sad to close but once i did i havent looked back nor regretted it. Unless you have a monster limit like @JoeLuvsHisCredit. , id put it to bed. Why play with potential fraud issues if you dont have to?
+1

Agreed. If they make you buy something you otherwise wouldn't, and they're the only merchant accepting the card, then economically it's the same as paying an annual fee.
I'd either close it or just live with the CLD.

That would be the only reason I personally would keep them open. To purchase a product I can't get elsewhere or cheaper elsewhere.
For some products I will happily pay a little more to buy directly from the manufacturer (with a reputational incentive to provide an excellent product) rather than some dubious middleman (who may let the inventory get a little damaged or not store it in perfect conditions).*

AJC, you made a good point. Plus the cheese is all out of stock. I will always defend them. In the five years I have had the account, I have purchased about once a year. The cheese the last couple of years. I forgot to make my purchase last month. The lower CL is only $300.00 out of $1800.00. I'll watch their site and see if the cheese doesn't return. At least that way the account stays open even with a lower CL. Thank you everyone.
