First Access visa shredded!

Just called to close my First Access visa card, a relic remaining from my 500 credit score days.

$350 ($50 manual CLI after 6 mo) Smiley LOL

$48 AF - After $89 processing fee and $75 activation fee.

29.99% APR

3 minute hold time, account closed within 2 minutes. They didn't try to counter with CLI and AF waiver.

My soul feels a little brighter. Credit One next.

Current FICO8:

2017: $200 secured card | 2023: $200,000+ total credit line

Re: First Access visa shredded!

What the ?... Those are some creative fees .. A fee to request a credit increase lol .... What if your denied? Lol ...

I remember I received a mailer and it had 150 dollar "account setup" fee... 49 dollars a year after that and 12.50 a monthly fee.... Straight predators...

Re: First Access visa shredded!

The fees on these cards are ridiculous. But I can't really blame these vultures. They gotta make money somehow to stay afloat. When their target market is unsecured and super subprime.. You have to make up for the insane risk somewhere.

I was grateful for the unsecured line of credit when no one else would give me a dime.

Use, abuse, chop, trash.

In hindsight, should have stayed away and just stuck to Disco and Cap One secured cards.

Re: First Access visa shredded!

Hi I have one of those too that is paid off and I want to close as well. However I have read that when we close a CC we hurt our score. I am interested in FICO not credit Karma, did you see a drop in score once it reported the card closed? If so how much did it drop?

I am curiois, and how long did you have it before you closed it?
