First National Bank account review = random closure

I received a Credit Karma alert yesterday advising me that my M Life (FNB) card was closed randomly by the issuer.

I call this morning and never received a real reason other than an account review can happen from time to time. I have not used the card since January and have had the card since 10/2017.

Anyone experience this with this bank before? I know Synchrony is notorious for doing this.

Although not as frequently seen on here, yes FNBO has performed similar AA reviews like Citi, BoA, 5/3, etc. There's some older threads on FNBO AA. Sorry to hear about the closure OP.

Yes this has been seen before by FNBO. If I had to guess the reasons why it would be your EX Bankcard Fico, high util & inquiry counts on EX. FNBO is a conservative bank. Once you get your revolving util under control, a Fico that consistently remains above 700 you should not have too much of a problem with this bank.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Re: FNBO - I honestly don't see myself heading back to app for any card in their portfolio, so it's not the worst thing in the world. My util will be under 20 percent by July reporting, and I have no plans to app for anything until late November when I may take a peak at Cap One Venture or a Citi card.

They closed your card for not using it in 3 or 4 months?

Merrick just closed my card with them on the 366th day and I was not happy.

3-4 months is crazy.

Rebuild started in 2014  -  $100k unsecured credit in 2017  -  $500k unsecured credit in 2024.

Just want to add Synchrony is not really notorious for closing an account for nothing. Usually it involves not using a card for long periods of time or some sort of AA has occured within persons cards/profile.
