First Post, First Store card LOWE'S

Hello myfico world.  first post here.  first, i love this place.   this place is so full of empowering consumer info.  thanks all.  i found this place when i stopped ignoring my credit that i destroyed years ago.  filed freecredit report and saw a FAKO score of 550.  i was depressed.  didnt know it was a FAKO score at the time.  on the upside, my credit wasnt near as bad as i expected.   2 no pays totalling $1300.  and no credit history.   i went to my bank, got a secured loan for $300, cuz i remembered that that was a good way to start. completed, and got another one with a year for $1000.  paid off.  after this, my credit union who is workin with me on this rebuilding plan, University Federal Credit Union, helped me apply and receive a secured visa with $500 limit.   oh, before this i settled both my no pays.  well fast forward to today, and my current TU FICO IS 686, EX FAKO=687, and EQ=629.  i expect these scored to go up as my Util this month is 88%.  that wont happen again as ive learned about posting dates and util ratios.  will keep it around 5% from here on out.  AAoA is only a year now.  just found this site after i did all that other stuff on my own.  wish i woulda found it sooner, oh well.  Today after reading this site for days, i got the courage/jones to apply for a store card.   applied for Lowes online and was instantly approved for $300.  i was ok with that limit cuz i was just psyched to get approved.  but after reading hear i decided what the hell, and called back door to lowes.   i requested an increase to $1500.   was asked questions, then transferred to underwriting.  she askd more quesitons and reviewd my report, Equifax by the way.  she returned after a few and said she was sorry she couldnt honor my request.  i was like dammm.  then she said your NEW CREDIT LIMIT is $900.   i was pleased.   thanks myfico forumites!

Re: First Post, First Store card LOWE'S

Thx ya'll.   is it normal for them to pull equifax for lowe's?   the reason i pulled lowe's is because i thought they would pull TU.

Re: First Post, First Store card LOWE'S

Congrats on your card. Enjoy the 5% discount.

Remember its GE so technically you show good use of the card, after the 4th statement you could ask for a CLI

It might just be your area.  Lowes is GEMB who pull TU the vast majority of the time.
