I closed both of my Premier Bank cards back on June 9th. After getting the spiel about how it will hurt my credit, I asked her to confirm that both were closed. She confirmed. I checked (because I don't want to have a hidden zero balance) today, and lo-and-behold, I have the stupid monthly charge on one of them ($6). When I closed them, I had just paid a $55 annual fee. I called them back to dispute the new charge, and the lady said she only sees one closed. I said, "No, I confirmed with the previous CSR that both would be closed." She started getting irritated - offering me annual fee waived, and a credit line increase from $300 to $500 (I don't need your stinking credit cards!!) Said she wouldn't even charge me the fee that they use to increase credit limits (something like 25 or 30 percent). I kept telling her that I wasn't interested. Then got the "my credit will suffer" routine. I said firmly, "Just please confirm that the cards are both closed, with zero balances and that I will be refunding my annual fee. She kept evading, but finally got her to do it.
Uggggh, I hate these vultures. Absolute scum of the earth.
Just wanted to share my experience. I hope others don't use them to rebuild their credit. If you have to, go to Credit One. They're much better.
I am sorry you had to go through that. I closed mine through a message sent on the website without any problems. Good riddance to them. Now if I can get Credit One to stop asking me to come back ugh.
