First Prime Application . . . Wait for processing :(

So my EQ finally reported my lower utilization and I put in my first prime app with Citi Forward to get this message:

Thank you jimbo831. We have received your application and further processing is required at this time. We will contact you within a week via email regarding our decision. Thank you for requesting a Citi Forward® Card.

Oh well, hopefully it is good news.  Should I call to try to speak to an analyst or just wait for the email?  I can't even seem to find a good recon number on the backdoor numbers page, just a bunch to check app status.  I also never got an application number or anything like that.

Re: First Prime Application . . . Wait for processing :(

So I called.  It looks like Citi tried to pull EX, which is frozen (still waiting for this last baddie to fall off, should be within 1-2 weeks.  I guess when that happens, I will unfreeze and consider Citi again.  PNC Bank uses EX though, and I think their flat 1.5% cash back would be better for me.  I might try Chase Freedom, but they may also try to pull EX.  So far, my only clear report is EQ (and my only unfrozen one because of this).  Anyone know of any good credit cards that would possibly pull EQ for Pittsburgh, PA and would approve someone with a 707 score?

On the plus side, I stopped by Best Buy on my way home to get the computers I have wanted.  I was approved for a $2300 card (which I assume is type A) and got both.  I'm definitely happy with that.  Sure blows away my current highest limit of $500, although it sure will kill my utilization once it eventually reports (using $2140 of it right off the bat with 18 months interest free).

Best Buy more than likely pulled EQ. Dicover may also pull EQ.

Yeah, Best Buy always pulls EQ from what I could tell (at least until Cap One takes over, I hope they don't lock down CLIs like they do with their own CCs).

What would probably be the best Discover card for me?  I'm looking for something with cash back rewards for now because I am in school and don't travel often (hotel and flight rewards don't help me).  Discover More maybe?  Is that worth it or should I just wait on my EX for a chance at either Citi Forward, Chase Freedom, or PNC CashBuilder?  Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Yeah Citi is just difficult to deal with. They don't allow you to switch CR's if one is frozen, it absolutely MUST be the one they want or no results. At least the others allow you to pick one if you want.

Oh, I didn't know you could pick with others?  Interesting.  So if Chase pulls EX and it is frozen, they will try another?  Would I have to call them for that?

Re: First Prime Application . . . Wait for processing :(

So happy, I was approved for Chase Freedom!

Pretty funny actually because both my EX and TU are frozen.  I called the analyst backdoor after getting a message saying it was processing.  He told me that the automated system tried EX and TU and both were frozen.  He then offered to check EQ.  He did and I got a $1000 limit.  Not much obviously, but it's a start.  Just happy to have my foot in the door and I can hope for a CLI down the road.

Hopefully I can just get one more after my EX clears up and then it's into the garden with me for a while.
