Re: First Prime Application . . . Wait for processing :(

That would be amazing for utilization.  Does anyone know if this is harder to get than just the CC?  I have a very fresh file.  Now that all my baddies are gone, I have two accounts reporting.  I am AU on my wife's Cap One card that is 20 months old and I have my own Cap One card that is 8 months old.  I also have a ton of student loans all opened within the last 2 years (ugh, I hate how dept of ed reports each individual loan separately.)

So happy, I was approved for Chase Freedom!

Pretty funny actually because both my EX and TU are frozen.  I called the analyst backdoor after getting a message saying it was processing.  He told me that the automated system tried EX and TU and both were frozen.  He then offered to check EQ.  He did and I got a $1000 limit.  Not much obviously, but it's a start.  Just happy to have my foot in the door and I can hope for a CLI down the road.

Hopefully I can just get one more after my EX clears up and then it's into the garden with me for a while.

Congratulations on your new Freedom!!

I can't say for sure but I don't believe it's harder...it's actually something psecu offers and recommends to their members from what I have read.

If your report is completely clean of any negatives or lates I believe you have a good shot of being approved.

Congrats and yes as you experienced, you can direct them to pull any report you want if others are frozen. Unlike Citi, who will absolutely demand you unlock the one(s) they want.

Just a reminder for everyone to be careful talking about this tactic. It is considered unethical to attempt to manipulate which CRA is pulled by freezing other reports.

I'm not saying you are advocating this approach mxp114 but this is a good place to bring it up.

Good point Vet. To anyone thinking about that tactic, you would be wasting your time. Lenders periodically SP, so if they see some baddies on one of your frozen ones, you could face AA such as CLD or closure at credit grantors request.

Sorry, I didn't realize I was posting anything that was frowned upon.  I will stay away from that for now on.  I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting wasted INQs when I didn't think I would be approved.
