Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

I watched a program the other nite, I think it was niteline or something. They were talking about the housing situation and reported that Fair Isaac said the national avg is 696! You look above avg to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

Thanks. I've heard alot of different numbers thrown out there for what the average actually is. I guess myFICO thinks it's up there somewhere around 750 and above. Actually I think I saw something that said that well over 50% of the population was above 750, but I don't really believe that (at least from the people I hang around with!)!!

That IS strange, because I thought that the speedometer clicked over to "good" at 660, "very good" at 720, and "great" at 760. Just my luck, they're moving the mark as I creep up on it! Congratulations, got my fingers croseed for ya.

Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

Yep, 660 was the trigger for me to get into the good zone. I remember because 2 of my scores were 658 and 659 and that little scale crushed me!!!!!! Now they're doing it again, but hopefully that lever will move on over to the right soon.

Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

I'm monitoring this way too closely I know, but after a new credit card appeared on my EXP report with a balance (no limit being reported) and 2 more cc's reporting 0 balance my score went up 3 points. My real purpose of this post is this:
At 723 it said my score was good--over 725 moves it to very good..

Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

My TU is at 691 now as of yesterday. Hopefully in the next 3 months all my CR's would be in 700's. I am hoping to buy a house next March / April and if I could get scores, I could get better rates. Hopefully soon I should be in the 700 Club.

Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

If you have slightly high balances, pay what you can and you'll go well over 700. My EXP score went up 28 points by zeroing out one CC that had a balance of 1800 which at the time was about 10% of my total util.

Re: First Time Cracking 700 (and confused)

It's funny, on this site and on the same report, I get slightly conflicting information with my 726 score. On one screen it says it's above average, on another it says it's about average. Go figure!
