First USA soft pull?

I closed this CC years ago. (Like a dummy!  Great CL, just didn't "need" it.)   Any idea as to why would they be "softing" me?

May be they want to see if they can offer you a new card. You should call them and ask them.

It's a Chase pull. First USA is part of JP Morgan Chase. I have previously reported this behavior here for the benefit of those who claim that Chase has not pulled an EX report on them when they state to have acted on EX information. Chase can pull under several subsidiary names.

Re: First USA soft pull?

When Chase bought First USA a few years back, they decided to allow First USA to run their credit card operations so if they were to pull your credit report, it would show up as First USA.

Re: First USA soft pull?

I have several soft pulls on my report from First USA.  I have opted out, but somehow they are sending me emails through third parties, which ends up in my junk mail.  Their fees are too high, I will not apply for it especially as they are a part of Chase and Chase closed my 1 good credit card with a $2,000 limit.

Who is sending you emails? First USA are soliciting CC business via email? Are you sure these are not phishing messages?

Have you been softed by First USA since Chase closed your card? If so on what CRB? Is there still a balance on the card or is it PIF?

Re: First USA soft pull?

As soon as I realized that chase had closed the account I PIF (as I normally do) because I knew it would affect my utility.  Yes they have softed me since Chase closed my cc.  It was on Ex that they did it.

Too bad you can't tell an AR from a PRM on EX. It would be interesting to know which was pulled.
