I've been lurking for months..obsessing actually. I've made it my life's work to grow my fico scores. After making some"young and stupid" mistakes with my credit..nothing too bad but mistakes nonetheless..I applied for my first credit card in 15 years last September. Instantly approved for a Disney Chase Visa for $2500. I was beyond excited! Then I went a little crazy Kohls, Talbots and Old Navy followed right after. Then in November I went crazy again..Amazon Visa, BJ's Visa, Paypal MasterCard. Applying like a lunatic! I decided in January I was going to put some order to the madness and joined credit karma to keep everything organized. That's when the obsessing began. Now I have more credit than I will ever need but I'm having so much fun watching it grow. Thanks to my husband adding me as an authorized user in his amex when we got married, my oldest account is 20.2 years. Unfortunately, the insanity of 9 apps over the last six months and ALL my new credit Have brought my AAofA down to 2.3years but it gets better every month.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your wisdom. It has been an enormous help to me over the last 6 months.
now remind me I dont need anymore credit cards..lol
Thank you! I definitely will. I'm so relieved to have that first post out of the way. I've had so many questions but didn't want my first post to be needy..lol. Now I can ask all my stupid questions!
There's lots of ways to have fun around here without applying for credit. You can strategize your SP CLIs, and learn the acronym dictionary.. And put some of those cards in your sig where people can admire them
Thanks..I'm going to go figure out how to do that now!

Needy? No way. We're all needy in one way or another. lol
If you have any questions spit them out. We'll be glad to answer one way or another. (If some of us are offline others will answer, as well.) It's a great community here - I think we all want each other to succeed in this credit game.

+1 Welcome aboard
I'll join OP in thanking this board for its wisdom, and for making credit building feel like a challenge and an adventure rather than a chore. I wish I'd started reading here earlier .
