Re: Flexible Spending Account

I still recommend you call ahead if you want to go over your limit. That way you know for sure if it will be approved or not (NPSL approval are done case by case basis).

Not that i'll ever do that (go over limit) but thats a nice feature.

You never know!

Someone posted about a week or two ago that they wanted to pay their childs college tuition with a card and they had a visa sig (with npsl) that had a $5k limit and they paid 20k on the card without issue. They just called up and asked first. lol

That was me! And it worked like a charm...  $19,500 charged, and already paid off. Nice 1.5% Cap One cash back on this transaction...  Smiley Happy

I intend on doing the same thing for Spring Semester.

Then I think I will go ahead and talk with them about a CLI!  Smiley Tongue

Lol!

"Well sir....you can spend up to 20k on your card...we just don't want to actually raise your limit that high because....we review your account periodicially?" lol

You have one of their prime cards though, I thought they were supposed to be nice to you prime card holders.

I know, right - LOL!!!

Actually, they did tell me they would give me a CLI at the 6 month mark on this card. It is the green cash back card. The account is just a couple of months old so I do not mind waiting. I guess I need to "prove" myself to them and that's fine. Goal for this card is $30k...

At least I am establishing a good track record with them.  Smiley Happy

Any time I have called, their reps have been very nice, english speaking people, and very easy to deal with.

I have  no trouble with their reps either, and they've always helped me, even PCd my card from plat to cash rewards, but it is a "Credit Step" card, and from what I've read on this forum, credit step means you take one step...and then sit there...forever Smiley Tongue

A Flexible Spending Account is one where you can charge over your limit without penalty AS LONG AS you pay the balance back down to your stated limit within the next billing cycle.  How much exactly they'll let you charge over your limit will require a phone call to find out, or it may be stated somewhere in the fine print of your card member agreement.

I have the Visa Sig Chase Mileage Plus Explorer and it read Flexible Spending Account on my credit report. So this means I can exceed my CL and be ok (not that I would)?

Yeah!

You just need to make sure that you pay off anything above your CL within that statement. Depending on how much you go over it might be denied they, as they do it on a case by case basis.
