Since 2013, my household has routinely received a double pull (EQ & EX) for every new Chase card application. Prior to 2013, they were all single pulls (mostly EX).
Slightly off-topic : I noticed when I peruse the personal CC choices on CHASE, they do not show the CHASE FU as a option, yet they show all the other ones. Is that because I already have the CHASE FF and they consider it similar? If I log off my account and check, it's there (Chase FU).

@Wavester64, Do you mean on mobile app or website - logged in - that they don't show Freedom Unlimited? Mine doesn't show all their cards either and just shows five. Two of them aren't even a good match for my profile: Freedom RISE and Slate EDGE. And there's also a card I used to have that I closed - World of Hyatt. So I think it's more just marketing and picking some cards they think you might want. At the bottom of that list, if you click 'If you don't see what you're looking for ... Find a Card" it will open up a browser window on the Chase website with all their cards. If you want to apply for one, you can log back into your account from that page so it pre-populates the application.

On the website while logged in. Just seemed odd that they didn't have that card showing for me while logged in.
I have three Chase cards (Amazon Prime from 2018, CFU from 2019 and CSP from 2021). Each of these apps pulled both EX & EQ for me. Depending on your location, they may pull TU instead of EQ, but I think they always pull EX.

@IsFiveCardsEnough I think Chase might pull EX/TU for Prime if I go through with the application. Seems like TU was used for soft pull, never could get it before today only the Synchrony version. TU is the only report thats fully updated so thats my reasoning. Could be wrong of course, but super happy its finally showing. Fingers crossed for next week.

I don't know if the prequal SP bureau has any bearing on what bureaus are pulled for the actual app. They could still pull EX/EQ. It seems to be based on your location/address when you apply. Some regions they pull EQ and others they pull TU,
Have you pulled the trigger yet?

@IsFiveCardsEnough I haven't bc EX (nemesis bureau) is once again the last bureau to update. Had to submit disputes to get correct balance information updated for two accounts and submitted one for the last this morning. Not sure what the issue is, balance update was sent to all bureaus 9.18. EQ and TU updated by 9.22, EX nothing. Getting util under 30% gave a pretty decent boost to the others. Haven't fully updated signature line, TU went from 684 - 716, EQ went from 688 - 718, EX grrrrrrrr
Did push my luck with a second USB app after Connect approval so fingers crossed there. Might be a flat out denial, which I'd understand. Figured might as well take a shot and see if the accounts can start aging and inqs fall off together. Been in the manual review process since Mon. Soon as EX (finally) updates I will pull the trigger on pre-qual for Prime. Would be nice if the double pull was EX/EQ bc TU is taking a beating.

All of my Chase cards have been double pulls.I was approved for another Chase card last night and it was yet again...a double pull.
One more Chase card approval a few minutes ago and another double pull.
To me in a case like yours (2 recent double pulls) its crazy that they cannot just rely on one double pull. If I recall, you just got card #1 approval not that long ago. Your credit could not have changed that drastically since then & its with the same lender, so *IMO* the 2nd card should have just been 1-pull or no pull at all (I know the latter is asking a lot )
