I know that I said I was in the garden, but apparently I was a little premature with that statement. I did not make any new apps, but apparently my competitive side won out and I did recon a couple of denials that I had received during my previous app spree. While I was reviewing my denial letters I noticed that my denials all came from CCC that pulled EX. When I reviewed my EX report there was an old lien that still showed as unpaid. The 2 other CR showed correctly as released.
So I called Barclay and AMEX and explained the situation. The gentleman at Barclay was extremely nice and professional, and reviewed my app while I was online. He approved me for $1000, not what I had hoped, but I will take it and make it grow over time. The AMEX is still under consideration. It was Tuesday afternoon and the gentleman told me it would be 48 hours (which has come and gone) and the online application status still shows as "in progress". I am hoping that it is still under review means that they are trying to approve it. Maybe that is wishful thinking.
Do what you have to do. Never take no for an answer always recon as you found out it pays. Good Luck with AMEX.

They were going to pull TU where it shows the lien paid almost 18 mos ago. Just looked and it was pulled yesterday. I have my fingers crossed. Hope to hear soon. Thanks for all of the good info on this forum.

if they went as far as pulling another CR I think your in good shape, they will see that it is paid and will not have much reason to decline, welcom to the amex family!
