Not necessarily current but there were reports of people being denied for not being in the service area

Re: Fort Knox 5% Gas Card

I know nothing about the Knox, but what about PenFed? I think it requires a direct deposit, but most people have fairly steady gas bills, so you can just DD the approximate amount you use per month to get past that.

Re: Fort Knox 5% Gas Card

I am a member of Fort Knox FCU and have had the card since 2011.   I joined through the American Council in 2011.  I live in San Diego, California. The card is great for the 5% cash back on gas and 1% on everything else.   They mainly pull TU for credit.

Fico 8 Scores: EX: 787 (6/25/21) EQ: 788 (6/12/21) TU: 750 (2/21/21)
Fico 9 Scores: EX: 799 (11/9/20) EQ: 794 (10/13/20)

Penfed is definitely on my 2016 list. Waiting till my EQ is clean before I join. Smiley Wink

Btw, you don't have to have dd for the 5% gas. Below are other ways to qualify.

It doesn't require direct deposit in that sense, to get 5% you need a "qualifying account" which can be a small ($25?) money market account.  No need to DD every month

Re: Fort Knox 5% Gas Card

DD always seemed like the easiest option to me, but if you don't have split DDs through your employer, it could be a pain.
