Fraud CC was closed unused, but Experian wont delete

My identity was stolen last year. First Premier had opened up a credit card in my name and under my social. Before it could be used, I had it closed. I was lucky enough to pull a credit report and see the account was opened, and not used yet. I noted it was fraud, and First Premier agreed. I just disputed it with Experian and it came back as unchanged. Why would this happen?

I just got off the phone with a customer service representative of First Premier, and she says they sent a letter stating the account should be deleted from my report. I am having First Premier fax me a letter saying the account was indeed fraudulantly opened, and that the account is meant to be deleted from the reporting credit bureaus. Who can/should I send this letter to, and how can I ensure this gets permanently deleted from my credit history? Can I fax it to Equifax, Experian, and Transunion? I googled their fax numbers, but nothing came up.

I think that is standard practice grandfinale. I lost my Penny's cc and requested another one. The one I lost was never used but shows up on my CR as "CR lost/stolen".

It doesn't effect your scores at all, imo.

I had the same problem with HSBC, and the account with them was removed from my report in its entirety. Im curious why the same situation had 2 different results. Oh well, at least I have a document saying the acconut was fraud. Might come in handy some day.

Good news. I just got an email with my dispute results from experian, and they DID delete the fraud cc! The 1800 number I called this morning to check dispute status was wrong!
