Hi All,
After 2 weeks with my card, my CSP has been compromised. Weirdly, it's only been used at restaurants and on Lyft and only at places I've used cards before. So annoyed. The positive is that iOS alerts helped me catch it the minute it was run.
Q: I got the email document from Chase about "what happens next." But I'm curious... They say they'll contact the CRAs and close out the old account and report a new one. Is this standard? I would assume my history will transfer to the new account? Has anyone dealt with this?
And kudos to Chase Fraud Dept and the Sapphire line: they were amazing, efficient, and helpful during the call I made. They also flagged my account for possible fraud while I was on hold from Sapphire Customer Service to Fraud. So clearly chase is pretty proactive.
Everything will transfer. You will just a new card number.
So happy this is being taken care of for you!

Maybe you got a new waiter?
Their fraud department is pretty good. I had an issue in the past and they resolved everything quickly and painless.

Not that weird. Those are not the only potential sources of fraud. One does not necessarily have to have access to your card.

Yup. This is standard -- not just for Chase but most creditors. Typically there will be two accounts reporting until the dust settles. The new account will have the same open date, payment history, etc as the old account.

My new card arrived via UPS early this morning. Very impressed with the quick turnaround and overall fabulous CS. Chase and NFCU are definitely making Amex's customer service look shoddy in comparison.
Chase fraud protection is great glad to hear you had a simular experiance. Problem with resturants is the waiter takes your card "in back" and has a easy chance to grab your info without you knowing. Sucks when it happens wish they had a easy way to catch these people.
