I asked this question in a thread but never got a direct answer. Is it possible to PC from a Freedom to a regular Sapphire (not the CSP)? If so does that card still have the minumin $5k CL?

Answer is I am not sure. I have heard of people going from CS to Freedom. Since you can no longer apply directly for CS I am not sure you can PC a freedom into it. I know people can still downgrade from CSP to CS though. In terms of the 5k min requirement that is for the CSP, but the CS does not have that requirement. If I had to choose between a freedom and a CS I'd go with the freedom, unless you have a ton of dining spend.

I do spend a decent amount on dining, and the revolving categories are covered with my Discover IT. Also, do you know if Chase using a hard pull or soft pull for PCs?

I do not think they HP you for a PC. You are assuming the discover it categories will match up with the freedom categories. While it is true they both have restaurants in the second quarter, in the third quarter it looks like only the freedom will offer 5% cash back on fuel. If you use enough fuel the 5% back via the freedom may make the freedom more valuable than the CS. Also, if you have restaurant spend that is soo heavy that you would cap out the discover in the second quarter then you could also use the freedom. Of course, if the only freedom category you would ever use is restaurant spend and your not able to transfer to travel partners I can see the CS making more sense.
From what I have read on the forums, in order to pc a card over to a different card and take the credit line with it, your card must be at least 13 months old and there cannot be any activity on the card for either 1 or 2 months.
Chase seems to be very nice to deal with. I would definitely call a backdoor analyst number instead of sending a secure message. I think the key is 13 months of age on the card you are looking to pc.
And they should not need to hard pull u in order to do this.

Thank you, I guess I'll have to wait then since my Freedom is only 3 months old

This is actually an interesting idea. My plan was originally to get a CS to use on restaurant and transfer the points to my ink plus. But since chase took the CS away i got a freedom. The thing here is that i can always get another freedom, but i cannot get the no AF sapphire.
Well you could just get the CSP and downgrade it to the regular Sapphire before the AF kicks in, but in my case I knew I would have gotten denied for the CSP because I don't have any $5k limits so that would have been a wasted HP for me. I think I'll wait for my Freedom to be 6 months old then I'll call the backdoor number and see if I can PC it

Well if CS is more valuable than go for it. I think u can try to PC now. They may do it. Having discover and freedom is redundant IMO
I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say, which number should I call? The CA or the PC number?
