Re: Freedom VISA SIGNATURE

You should have no problem closing down the BP card and moving the $1700 line from the BP to the Freedom.  This is done all the time with Chase...I've done it myself several times.  Or, if you want, you can move $1000 from the BP to the Freedom if you want to keep the BP card open.  Either way will give you the minimum $5000 line required for Visa Signature.

Also, remember that your Freedom card must be at least one year old before converting to a Visa Signature card...otherwise, Chase will not do it.

AMEX Green Corporate - NPSL | AMEX Everyday - $60,000
Chase Freedom Unlimited Visa Signature - $49,500 | Chase Freedom Visa Signature - $27,300 | USAA Platinum Visa - $26,000

Re: Freedom VISA SIGNATURE

pk, thats good to know, and yes my acct just hit the 1 year mark about a month ago... so who do I call, the 800# on the back of my freedom card, and I will probally keep my BP open with a 700 line.  will it affect my credit score at all my shifting lines around?

Re: Freedom VISA SIGNATURE

It will not affect your scores to move CL around. I think you have to call recons for requests like that.
JPMorgan Palladium (100k), AmEx Platinum (NPSL), AmEx SPG (46k), AmEx BCP (42k), Chase Sapphire Preferred (47k), Citi Prestige (31k), Citi Thank You Preferred (27k), Citi Executive AAdvantage (25k), JPMorgan Ritz-Carlton (21k), Merrill+ (15k), US Bank Cash+ (22.5k), Wells Fargo (12k), Bloomingdale’s (12.4k), Chase Freedom (5k), Discover IT (5k).

Actually, moving CLs around can impact one's credit score. For example, if OP is reporting a $500 statement balance on his BP card and then moves $1,000 of that CL to his Freedom card, his BP card utilization would increase dramatically, which would of course hurt his score and put him at risk for AA. If OP is reporting a $0 balance on his BP card it's probably a moot point though.

Ah yea bibro I should have explained. I saw this OP's other thread where he paid down all his revolving debt, so his util is essentially zero.

Yes. The credit card game is a weird "hobby" of mine.
