The offer showed up when I was still 6/24 (with the black star and a definite APR, not the range) but I still figured it was just advertising, or that they SP’d before I acquired all my new cards. She checked and said the prequal looked to be solid and it was the CRA info was current. It’s been showing up on my Chase app for months now. In fact, I never saw UNTIL I got went on my mini spree. I do want the Freedom card at some point, and honestly if the offer for it was on the table right now, I’d take it, because I’ll be back over 6/24 for quite some time when I come out of the garden. I’m going hard after NFCU cards and I’m going to take a crack at US Bank as well. I’ve got quite a few HPs falling off over the next few months and my new cards will have some age by then. I eventually want to go for PenFed too, but Flagship and the Cash + are my two most coveted cards right now. However, reading how NFCU works, I may have to take another NFCU card for 91/3 to be able to get the Flagship. I honestly don’t want to do that, but data seems to suggest that the Flagship is rarely ever given as the 1st NFCU card. The 4 cards in my goal cards list below and the Chase Freedom are the only other cards I foresee acquiring, at least in the immediate future. It would take something new that offered something much better than what I have now to get on my list of consideration. The Cash + and Freedom will be the best percentage yielders, but I want the 3 CU cards to reinforce relationships with the CUs as much or more than what the card will do for us in terms of Cashback. I’m around 3 years away (Lord willing and the creek don’t rise) away from being nearly debt (mortgage and auto payment) free. At that point, there’s a few business ventures that I dabble in now that I plan to take to the next level after then, and I want a few good options of funding for that. I figure getting in with 2 or 3 of the top 10 CUs in the world is a good start on that. I already have a little cash in both Alliant and NFCU accounts, have opened checking accounts with both to begin building the foundation there.

Even though I’m at 5/24, my mortgage is through Chase, so they have me pre-approved for the CFU. I called and asked about prequalification and was told it was solid even being 5/24 because of my 17+ year history with them (24.99% APR though🙄) I asked if I could get the Freedom instead. She said no, and that I would almost certainly get denied if were to apply for the Freedom instead I’d the CFU. So no Chase card me in the immediate future. She said I could PC it to the Freedom later “if that option was still available at the time”. It’s honestly not worth the HP and hit in AAoA to me for what I’m guessing will be a low limit CFU based on the 24.99% APR, especially if they do nerf the Freedom or the ability to PC later on. They say they want my business, but apparently not enough to give me what I want to do business with them. They will have to sit on the sideline while I, um, Chase better cards for now! 😉😂So a long positive history with Chase can possibly trump the 5/24? If that were true (it's one CSR's comment), that would be a nice DP.
Hopefully Freedom doesn't get nerfed. FU is OK, but I have the DC.

Even a short history or no history at all (via Chase Credit Journey) can overcome 5/24. "Green checkmark" and "black star" offers always seem to be genuine preapprovals that are not subject to 5/24. I've been approved for a CSP (now CSR), Slate (now closed), and Freedom Unlimited through green checkmark offers being LOL/24 over the past 1 to 3 years.

If I recall correctly, one cardholder grabbed a few Chase cards at once around 5/24 and then had to hide under a rock for a while. So the 5/24 restriction is there for certain situations and history with Chase might not have anything to do with it.
Yeah, I would never suggest trying to grab multiple Chase green checkmark or black star offers at once if you are above 5/24. In a lot of cases, I would advise against it even if you're 0/24.
