From regular sapphire to preferred

So I'm still waiting on the approval lol lets just say though that I do get it, do you guys think it would be possible to get a PC to the preferred? I dine out a lot and travel as well and the rewards and points on the preferred seem more appealing. Just figured the regular was easiest to get.

My Sapphire took 5 days to be approved too...guess they manually reviewed it, which was perfectly fine, because I wound up with $10,000 limit Smiley Happy

You won't be able to PC the account for 13 months per the card act. However, maybe you can try calling them to see if they'll consider you for the preferred before they create your account? You'll also be missing out on the 40,000 bonus points by PCing!

Re: From regular sapphire to preferred

i don't know about the 13 months thing-i had 2 different offers to upgrade(yes upgrade, not apply for a new card) to the CSP on the chase webpage in my first 3-4 months with my sapphire. The offer included a waiver of the annual fee for the first year but not the big 40000 point signup bonus.

Re: From regular sapphire to preferred

just called chase, still no decision on the sapphire. They told me at this point I would have to reapply for the preffered or do a PC later in the future. oh well.. Question... is the regular sapphire plastic or metal?

Plastic, but a pretty thick, durable one at best! Though not as heavy as the metal, it still has a considerable weight to it compared to my Freedom and other cards, and I still get occasional compliments on the design for it!
