I've had an American Eagle store card for about 18 months now and It's been more than 4months since my last CLI on my American Eagle GE store card. Started with 350 then Auto CLI to 500, and then 800. I called the automated system to request a CLI, and without even offering me a counter offer, it denied me, and said "a letter with be sent..." blah blah.
Could this have anything to do with the fact that I got an JCP and ON store cards within the past 60 days? (Both through GE)
Some posters have said GE has gone to 6 month CLI increments on some of their products. Wonder what your letter will say??

I will keep this thread updated when the letter arrives. I will be checking whether there was a HP done also.

It seems GEMB is doing CLIs differently now. I was denied CLI and then got auto-CLI a couple of weeks later. Others have posted the same. I'd say to look at your cr. do you have high util? Baddies? GE softs you and bases their CLIs on that, in addition to your history with them. The letter should let you know why.
Util is ~19% (and dropping quickly) and I've got $21,500 total credit available.
I treied earlier today with my cherveron texaco card and the system hung up on me twice LOL,maybe there is system issues
I've had my Amazon store card open for 8 months now. It started at 1400 and after 4 months they increased 100 bucks....lol.
Recently last week at the 8 month mark, I had asked for 500 increase and they increased it to 2000 with no counter offer.
So YMMV, they say.
Quick update:
Recieved my letter from GE regarding the CLI request. Got the "need more experience at current credit limit". Will have to try again in a couple months!
You can also ask the CSR to transfer you to underwriting for manual review... but it has done nothing for me!
