Re: GE Capital did a HP when I requested Credit Increase

Haha I don't mean to scare you or anything, but that would really be the worst case scenario, and I have seen it happen, though not with GE. I would be so mad if I ever found out I got 6 inquiries from 1 app alone :/

OP,

There's hope for you! Ask nicely.

Thanks!  Going to have to put on my really nice voice if I might need to ask for six removals.  (Ryan, sent you a PM asking a couple questions)

I could have apped for Chase Freedom and got one pull, but instead potentially got six pulls for 2k extra on a rooms to go card.  I'm going to try to just laugh right now.

Capital One Quicksilver - $6000 (9 Months) | Bank of America Better Balance - $5000 (9 Months)

Re: GE Capital did a HP when I requested Credit Increase

I called them up, and was told they could only do one pull in a 24 hour time period, so looks like the nightmare was averted.   Hardpull came when I did the request over their automated system, so not really much I can ask as far as them removing it.  They unfortunately couldn't answer how many bureaus they pulled either.

Then I felt determined to make myself feel better, so I applied for the Chase Freedom card and was approved for $3,500.  I might have a mental problem Smiley LOL, but I do indeed feel better now.   If you're going to have a smoke, might as well smoke the whole pack, right?

Here are my inquiries since July:  I have no other inquiries in the last 2 years.

Bank of America - Single Pull

GE Capital - Double or Triple Pull

Capital One - Triple Pull

GE Capital Take 2 - ?

Chase Freedom - I believe they do single pulls

Am I bordering on excessive, or still okay as long as I cool it?

I plan to tend the garden until August 2014... fortunately I won't be needing any car loans or mortgages in the next year or two.

You are perfectly ok the way you are right now. I would think you are fine even if you do end up getting a few more cards or an auto loan, not that I'm recommending you to app.

Grats on the approvals! Chase has been double / triple pulling quite a bit so that's a possibility as well.
