From what I understand they all tend to be generous in handing out CLI's, you can request a CLI every 4 months. The underwriting criteria is slightly different for all of the cards. When I did my GE app spree I got Walmart $1000, Amazon $800, Lowe's $500 and JCP $200 on the same day (in that order). This was in September. Fast-forward to December and my JCP was auto-increased to $700 while the others have all stayed the same so far.
I called yesterday to get a CLI and they said it would result in a hard pull
With GE you should wait for the 4th statement to cut before you call for a CLI.
2 of my GE accounts (Amazon and Meijer) had very small auto-CLI's after the 3rd statement so I had to wait 4 statements after those to get big CLI's.
I just got a 2x CLI from AMZ yesterday and I will check on Meijer later this month after the 4th statement post the auto-CLI shows up.
GE is typically very generous with CLI's when you call underwriting.
My Walmart went from $800 to $1600 and Amazon went from $1600 to $3200.
Just be patient and they will grow nicely with you as long as you make your payments on time.
Amazon (GE) is only a hard pull if they need more info in order to approve the request.
edit: as a rule of thumb you should wait 4 statements to request a CLI with GE cards.

i would call again and ask another rep.
when did you get the card? and which one?
all of my ge cli have been softs.
rule of thumb though always expect a hard and be relieved when its a soft.

A FEW GE cards break the norm and you can find yourself being asked to okay a HP (CareCredit if either you don't want to accept counter and want to try for full amount you asked for or if they just won't offer ANY CLI without it, ummm actually can't think of others right now)
Amazon, Walmart, TJMaxx, chevron, gap, the list is endless... you can put request in on automated system, or ask rep to input in computer but even if computer spits back approval depending might still ask for manual review and they will ask to pull a fresh report but it's SP and I have not found the confusion with them as much on rather it's HP or SP, they have all know)
GE Cards often see an AUTO CLI at 2-4 month range and you can start requesting really whenever you want... computer will kick you to 4-6 months between increases I think but manual review can be more often... also don't be afraid to do manual because GE auto CLI and you requesting with phone or front line CSR the system is using most recent SP they have on you which I find runs 60-90 days behind.... alot can change in 90 days!
as your sig says i never waited for the 4 months...
ive asked on both my ge cards before 4 months
walmart gave me 2 cli in the span of 4 months (no auto cli)
and ae denied 1st at 3 months and approved at 5 months (but only a 300 increase)
all done with soft pulls.
