Re: Garden Club - January 2016

Happy New Years gardeners!!

I will be in the garden 5 months tomorrow.

Goals for 2016 - not go crazy like 2015 and no apps until August when my last 0% APR ends (Chase). No need for any other cards really. I also need to review to see which cards can be removed from the SD and out of my portfolio.

Another personal goal would be to see all 3 credit bureaus report 800+ scores.

Re: Garden Club - January 2016

I just stopped by to trade my emerald spade for a sapphire spade. 3 more months to go for

diamond, woot.

I reached my personal credit goal of 850 FICO in December. It took me 21 months of strict gardening, which

is actually about 6 months shorter than I thought it would take. There's not really anything new credit wise on

the immediate horizon for me. Eventually I need to do a few things that will require new inquiries and

accounts, but maybe not in 2016:

1. I have 90K UR stashed on my freedom and ink. Eventually I need a CSP to get the points transferred to partners.

2.  I am 4 years out till my 7-1 arm resets. At that time I may need to pay it off if rates are way up. I need to set up a

     15 year shared secured installment loan with NCFU against the contingency I have to close my only open loan - my mortgage.

3. I am interested in what Schwab is going to offer this year for a credit card.

I have actually become inquiry and new account phobic during my gardening stint. It is really hard to consider tainting my

hard won credit report with anything new. It's a sickness that doesn't seem to be very contagious, lol.

Also, since it seems like several of us are observing the new year from vacation locations, I'll admit to

being in Kailua-Kona. It isn't Jamaca, but its a pretty nice place to wake up on New Years Day. The fireworks

over town last night were pretty impressive.

I'm so jealous! I spent my day in the economically depressed city of Tucson, lol.

Re: Garden Club - January 2016

Greetings and Happy New Year, all.

I'm getting in on page 8 or 9. Some of us (me) got stuck working the holiday, but it's all good.

I rarely make resolutions, but I decided to practice more gratefulness in 2016. I've been very blessed with a good life, good career, and good friends. And, thanks to MF, I've been rebuilding my credit in ways I didn't think were possible. So, I am also grateful for the education I've absorbed from all of you.

I will hit three months in the garden on 1/12. Yay, excited to get my silver spade.

My December gardening highlights included:

- Closing my Barclay Reward MC. (That one only took two attempts before it actually happened.) Length of time I had this account was 1 year and 10 days.

- Closing my J Crew card. Length of time with this account: 11 months, 5 days

- Got a CLI on my Cap1 QS WMC $13,000 --> $16,000 (I've had this card since 2007)

- Got a CLI on my Discover it $32,000 --> $38,000 (I've had this card since 2012)

January looks to be fairly quiet month for me with regard to credit, other than staying in the garden.

Happy gardening, folks. Smiley Happy
