Re: Garden Club - July 2016

First time in garden.  Hoping to stay in for at least 6 months.  Started off a year and a half ago with all my scores in the 400's.  Started off with no credit cards and went for a crappy secured card.  Added Virgin America - first to take a chance on me 5 months after start and got into two major banks this year.  BOA in March and FNBO in June.  Average age of accounts little less than one 1 year.  Really want to let these cards age like fine wine and go for more CLI's plus build AAOA.  Hard to do now that other big banks are seeing pristine payment history and two legitimate banks having taken a chance with me.  Keep throwing away offers as soon as I get them so I'm not tempted to app or accept pre-approved offers.  But soooooo hard to do when reading all the sucessful apps in other parts of the forum.  So parking myself here and going to show some restraint.  Besides, four cards is enough for me right now especially having years with no credit cards whatsoever - I just feel lucky to have the ones that I have and still learning to readjust to having lines of credit, period!  Hoping checking in here regularly will take away the itch and set me up for better offers in the future when I'm finally ready to go for the cards I want.  Not one of those people that wants to accrue cards quickly just because they can.  Instead I look at the situation as a long haul to strategically only add the cards to my portfolio that I really would like to have in the future so the gardening club seems like the perfect place for me now!!!

Will pm one of the moderators for my fragile little seedling as I have no idea (no matter how many times I try to even know where to put the code for my little plant and looking forward to alleviating my itch by hanging out here with all the other gardeners....

I got my 2nd interview today. Its a big step getting in on the ground floor and helping build an IT support facility like this but that is exactly what I have been offered. Not management but as close as I can get to it and still get overtime, bonuses, and not spend all day running reports and sitting through meetings. Good thing is the customers come with the job so all I have to do is train the new employee force to do what I do and then turn them loose on the people I do it for. Significant pay raise as well. I passed this interview with flying colors too and was told to expect an offer letter Monday. The bad part is I will have to leave my current job very soon. Too soon to give notice. I am normally not cool with that but my current job ends 14 days later so its not like they are going to be around after the 2 weeks to be mad at me. Anyway, with the added income I expect to be able to pay down my CC debt very quickly.

Good luck MyLoFICO... this sounds really promising!

I also want to add not to be concerned about the lack of notice... I've actually been on both sides of the desk in similar situations, and while it's always preferable to give a notice when possible, sometimes it simply isn't...and that's OK, too.  Everyone should understand that it's just business, and just as a manager has to do what's best for the company you have to do what's best for yourself.

I've seen situations where people in 'sensitive' job positions were being downsized and there was no notice to them - they were even escorted out by security (note that they were downsized, and not fired for cause).  They had done nothing wrong, it's just how it worked for their position.

When I was downsized myself years ago the group I was in did get a notice (and a severance to encourage us to help with the transition) but it's simply not always possible.  As you mentioned since your own job will be coming to an end anyway in only a matter of days I'm sure your managers will have no problem with you having to leave early in any case.

Again, good luck, and let us know how it goes!  Smiley Very Happy

Re: Garden Club - July 2016

Good morning! I am back for my 3rd month. I recently got hurt and have to have major surgery. Ill be out for work until about 12 months for rehab and surgery. My Bils and score took a turn for the dumps. But ive safely arranged some hardship plans for the cards that were behind for the past 2 months. The ones that are current I am SDing and making payments as usual. I know my road to recovery is gonna be long but im keeping faith and Im dilligently keeping my bills paid as best as I can. I just want everyone to stay strong and dont be discouraged if you hit a bad patch in life. We all have been there. SO lets go! Garden club! Good luck to US!! Smiley Happy

Thank you and yes, you have it right. I am in that kind of position now and (will be more so in the future) because of my network rights on multiple companies networks. Everyone gets walked out and you are not allowed back in, even to get your belongings. They will bring them to you however so you don't leave empty handed. I will feel bad for the employees I leave to take on my workload but not for the company, their will be no love loss there.

Re: Garden Club - July 2016

I received an alert yesterday that my EQ went up another 10 points! Initially I thought that my dispute was completed, but that wasn't the case. My student loans were updated with higher balances. Hopefully I don't lose the points in the coming months when my loans change to deferred status. Not really sure if this makes a difference or not in FICO scoring.
