Re: Garden Thread - April 2015

Welcome to April Gardening everyone... hope it is a good one.

I'm in the garden (still) for maybe awhile. (I don't say how long anymore cause it never seems to stick, lol)  I can't get my seedling in my signature (still) but I am one.

Added 2 backdated (to 1992) Amex accounts (PRG and ED) and the last-chance US Airways card. I need to close a few accounts but to be honest we use all of them at some point during the year.

Best wishes to everyone for a bright & sunshiney month.

Good morning  boys and girls.

DW and I are both over 60 days app free, and this month is a crap shoot.

Either the refi will go through, or we'll say "f*ck it" and go take out a second mortgage....we shall see.

Happy Gardening!

Good luck!

Holy Canoli buddy!  Hang in there - I wish I could have given you to my banker - he had our re-fi done in less than a month, from start to finish and we spent all of 45 minutes on it..  Keeping fingers crossed for you!!

Happy April to you and yours.

TC, I'm curious why you don't get the ball rolling on the second mortgage anyway? Either way, you can use any extra to pay off the first mortgage if it is at a higher rate. And, if it is at a lower rate, you should have lower closing costs and whatnot with the second mortgage than with the refi. It might be worth it to take the HP in order to get some more certainty. You can also use it to "motivate" your lender to work faster.

Still waiting on the appraisal.  Appraiser was here on Friday, was SUPPOSED to have the finished appraisal to the LO yesterday....LO didn't have it as of 8:30 last night.

Re: Garden Thread - April 2015

Hello all,

Still gardeing away even though I got dupped with a HP by Shell for a credit increase but no worries ony had to go back to a silver spade. Steadily paying off carrds. I have zeroed out HSN, Loft, Buckle, J Crew, and J Jill. I also closed both One Stop Plus accounts and Kingsize. Paid down the rest and even managed to get 3 increases on Credit One and First Premier respectively. Will be closing all 3 once they have a zero balance.

Keep digging everyone!

Re: Garden Thread - April 2015

Good morning GC. Happy April! Yesterday I managed to meet my Venture ($3K) and Quicksilver ($500) spend for the sign-up bonus in about an hour's worth of online shopping. Seven months ago I moved across the country, and I've been pretty bare bones with furniture ever since. Soon I'll be able to have people over and offer them a place to sit.I don't normally spend so much money all at once, but I'll have it paid off long before my 0% APR periods are over.

Meeting the $500 spend for Chase Freedom won't be as quick but still pretty easy since 5% on dining corresponds with Seattle Restaurant Week. Smiley Happy

Re: Garden Thread - April 2015

Hello Garden Club!

My new Discover and Barclays just reported, and am still waiting for Amex to show up.  Good news is, my overall utilization got knocked down a bit, to 20%.  Last night I cut up my DCU secured card.  I am going to pay off the balance over the next few months and let it sit at $0 until it hits one year, and then SAYONARA!!!  I will check back on the 20th, my one month mark, for score updates and hopefully Amex will be reporting by then , too!
