General Requirements for an Amex as far as credit util, credit inq, history length etc?
If you call up for a manual review, how likely are they to reconsider if denied?

Welcome to the forum
1st Amex does not recon unless there's a mistake on CR's and in 99% of cases its still going to cost you another HP
Other key points:
Any time you app for any CC's UTL should be low
They're not too INQ sensitive
Amex likes to see previous history IMHO 1 year is good
usually 6 months of credit history with a major credit card, a 650 or higher for a charge card, 690 or higher for a revolver. Low UTL and low INQ's on your EX. You must have income or some other factor that shows you will pay off the card. Higher income has been known to lower and completely remove any of the above from consideration.

Amex llikes 6 months of History unlike Chase which does want 1 year
What would be a decent income that would make this factor in more heavily instead of credit score, of course with credit that doesnt have any baddies or anything negative?

north of 60k is a good start. To get a lot of aspects of your credit report over looked, I would expect it would need to be north of 150k and even then some people have problems getting in with AMEX.
Thank you so much for your help! I am new to the forum, have been buidling credit for two years now and not doing too bad. I'm only 20 but always on time with payments and hoping to get an AMEX within the next two years. I like your collection, I wish I had more prime cards instead of store cards

As stated IMHO 1 year ....(for a thin file)
In looking at OP cards in sig (thin)
A thicker file the 6 month rule would apply but in all cases YMMV
You learn to look at the entire picture and over time I've learned to see details without even asking.such as noticing a sig which can contain key details....cards scores etc etc
Stick around awhile you might just learn some more
FYI
@Anonymous can be obtained @ 6 months on a entry level cards such as freedom if no baddies and fairly good scores.
Ive always been scared to apply for Chase cards, I heard freedom is the easiest to get but would still like to build some more credit before I do more apps. Hoping more to get the AMEX
I've found Amex much easier to get the foot in the door with than Chase even without a year's worth of credit history. My first Amex I got when I had about 8 or 9 months of credit history and it was a revolver. Chase you might have to wait longer and be able to have a convincing reason as to why you would want one of their cards just in case you have to go through recon or they don't instantly approve you and the card ends up having a pending status. Amazingly I was able to get my foot in the door with them by getting one of their travel cards so I'm hoping that after a while, maybe I can still get the Freedom and have the limit of my card consolidated into that somehow.
