Many here have said that when you app for an Amex revolver and don't get their best terms, you'll get a letter with your FICO score mailed separately from your card.
My card came on Tuesday. It looks like Costco Amex only has one interest rate, but I only got a $2k limit, so I was hoping that I would get the letter and finally know what my EX FICO is. (It's driving me CRAZY!) I thoroughly looked through the papers sent with my card, and it wasn't there. There were only standard enclosures sent with CCs (rates, privacy notice, etc.).
So, I was wondering about how long after you got your Amex card did you receive your FICO. Was it sent with the interest rates and other papers? I've been keeping an eye out, but so far nothing else has arrived.
Any thoughts? Does it look like you don't get your FICO with the Costco Amex?
Thanks!
I think they may have stopped sending the EX. When I got my Clear back in April 2011, my EX score came in the same envelope. When I got BCE last month, I didn't get the best terms and I also didn't get an EX score. A few others here have had the same experience.
Hello Bich -
It is only required by law that the issuing company give you a "score" if you do not meet the credit requirements for the best terms for the credit product you are applying. So in this case, because the Amex Costco only has one APR available to applicants, you will not get your EX FICO from Amex. Now if there were several tiers of APRs available for the Costco and you didn't qualify for the lowest APR tier, then you would have recieved the EX FICO. Sorry.
Edit: Grammar again.
I recently recieved Amex BCE card, and about a week before getting the card they sent a seperate mailing indicating my Experian Fico score. So I can confirm they still mail out scores.

It looks like a form denial letter, and has your credit score and what bureau they pulled on the back. Did you get an approval emai? The letter was also an attachment to the email that said I was approved.
The email did not have any attachments.

I thought because I got such a low limit, that would be considered "not the best terms." D@mn. I SO wanted my EX FICO. I have NO idea what it is. It could be 650, it could be 750. Not the foggiest clue. And I'm guessing that it's not THAT high, because they gave me such a low CL w/Costco. I'm glad I got the card, but I almost would rather have had my EX FICO!!! Maybe I should move to Pennsylvania.
LOL - Don't worry, in 61 days you'll have 3 X's your current credit limit (fingers crossed) and in 8 months over $10000+. Amex is great about taking care of their loyal card members.

Has anyone had any success calling Amex and asking for their FICO score?
