Re: Getting a high limit credit card

I think it's a YMMV thing and also depending on the CCC. When I was talking w/a loan officer about a CLI on my CU Visa, she used my exising low limits and low "high credit reporting" as reasons (or excuses!) not to give me the CLI I was asking for. It was like, "Well, your highest balance has only been $1300, so we're not going to give you $5k." It's like you said, no one want to be the first to give you a high limit.

That's most likely what it is, just an excuse. I'd rather have a company tell me that they don't trust me with a high credit limit than spin all kinds of excuses and reasons for why they can't approve me or give me a CLI.

Re: Getting a high limit credit card

Yeah I have a $3300 Apple Barclays card...yet i cant get a CLI from Capital One, got a pitiful $100 CLI from Orchard for a total of $400 and I just got approved for Chase Freedom three months ago for a pretty dissapointing $500 limit....

Im just hoping ill get an auto CLI soon from Chase...prob not until at least May or June though...heck...ill prob get another auto CLI from Barclays before anyone else! haha

But yeah...id love another card with a decent limit so im not paying it off 5 times a month....grrr...
